I have been an Educational Psychologist across both independent and local authority services since 1998, allowing me to develop a clear understanding of different systems of schooling and learning approaches. I also have a background in primary school teaching, which enables me to draw on my experience of working in a classroom environment.
Alongside my local authority work, in 2008 I started to develop my independent practice, which became my full-time focus in 2016. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and am both an Associate Fellow and Chartered Educational Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I have experience of working with children and adults, in state and independent schools and colleges, and across a range of work sectors.
I value the involvement of parents, carers and teaching staff in order to gain a clear understanding of need. I also work closely with other professionals (such as speech therapists, clinical psychologists and psychiatrists), when appropriate, in order to enhance learning experiences and to support those that I work with in demonstrating their true potential.
In addition to my independent practice, I was an advisory consultant in the development of an independent special school for children with communication difficulties. For the past three years, I have also been involved in a secondary school career mentoring programme.
My practice is based in Bushey, Hertfordshire.
